Regional Heating Installer and Contractor of the Year

The Regional Heating Installer and Contractor of the Year is a new category that has been formed from the merger of Boiler & Heating Installer and Renewable Heat Installer categories.

This award rewards one exceptional company displaying excellent workmanship and customer service as it installs, maintains or repairs energy efficient heating systems.

All forms of heating related works on residential, industrial or commercial properties are eligible for consideration (eg heating controls, biomass boilers, heat pumps, etc) in support of the candidate for this award, provided the business operates from premises in the region and meet the nomination criteria.

Judging criteria

Nominations for this award are open to any company that meets the following criteria:

The nominated company must be registered with one or more of the following registration bodies:
-MCS
-Gas Safe
-TrustMark
-NICEIC
-Elecsa
-ECA
-AGSM / CORGI

All engineers working for the company on these projects must be fully qualified (or registered apprentices working under supervision).
The organisation must be either based in or have operating premises within its nominated region.
Work carried out in other regions may be used as additional supporting information for nomination, but only work carried out within the region is eligible for inclusion in the main nomination statement.
Nominees must provide a clear nomination statement outlining what sets them apart in their field, demonstrating actual energy savings achieved. Customer testimonials and community impact statements are essential.

Judges will consider the nature, scale and scope of the work carried out, and a special emphasis will be placed on any successful integration of any local or national government energy efficiency schemes in the nominee's projects.

The judges will also look at:
- the impact their work has had within the local community.
- what their customers and local community have to say about them
- what level of expertise the nominee has
