Procast began life from a humble start in 2007 with a workforce of 3, one of whom was our founder Derek Innes. It was built on values of honesty, safety, quality and responsibility and it continues to grow healthily by virtue of operating within this culture, it now has a diverse workforce of some 120 people.

Since 2013 ECO Surv have been revolutionising the way the energy efficiency and renewables industry operates through intelligent software and mobile solutions. The ECO Surv platform is a full end-to-end workflow management solution for the Energy Efficiency, ECO and Renewables industry. Our Mobile Surveying applications and cloud based platform allows for a streamlined route from lead generation to survey, compliance checking, installation, submission and obligation reporting.

The ECO Surv surveying application is used to capture data on site through the use of a mobile tablet. Once a measure is complete and uploaded compliant documentation is instantly created, ready for quick and easy application processing.

Since 2013, 2.5 million homes have benefitted from free or subsidised energy efficiency home improvements under the Governments Energy Company Obligation (ECO) scheme. Last year the Government announced plans to extend the scheme in 2023 to support 100,000 more households that currently do not benefit, under what is known as the The Great British Insulation scheme.

Free insulation

While there are several different types of insulation available under the scheme, for the vast majority of homes loft or cavity wall insulation will be the key measures available, as these will reduce your energy bill.

The Energy Saving Trust estimates that you can save between £180 and £690 a year on your energy bills by insulating your walls, depending on your home. Loft insulation can save you between £330 and £590 a year.

As well as loft and cavity wall, there are several other different types of insulation available under the Great



British Insulation and ECO schemes, including:

Boilers: Some homes can get boiler repairs, upgrades and replacements through the ECO scheme. If you are in the low-income group you could be eligible for a new condensing boiler.

Heating controls: Low income households that have an insulation measure installed under the Great British Insulation scheme or the ECO scheme may then be eligible to get heating controls installed, such as thermostatic radiator valves, thermostats and boiler programmers.

Electric storage heaters: If you own your home, you could get your existing electric storage heaters replaced or repaired under the ECO scheme.


Other measures: Some homes may also be eligible for improved window glazing (from single to double, or upgrading existing double glazing), draught proofing and better quality external doors.
