National Insulation & Fabric Installer and Contractor of the Year

sponsored by

The 2017 Insulation & Fabric Installer of the Year Award rewards one exceptional company, in the UK, that installs insulation or other energy efficiency building fabric systems.

This award recognises the efforts of fully qualified insulation or building fabric installers that provide excellent customer service, and demonstrate a high standard of quality workmanship or best practice.

Nominations for this award are open to any company that meets the following criteria:-

The nominated company must be registered with one or more of the following registration bodies:
-Green Deal ORB
-Federation of Master Builders

All installation engineers working for the company on these installs must be fully qualified (or registered apprentices working under supervision.)

The organisation must have worked on energy efficiency projects within the period between January 2016 and March 2017.

Work carried out in previous years may be used as additional supporting information for nomination, but only work carried out within the period is eligible for inclusion in the main nomination statement.

Nominees must provide a clear nomination statement outlining what sets them apart within their field, and demonstrating clear energy savings achieved.

The nominee must be able to provide evidence of a customer who is willing to endorse their work with a favourable testimonial statement.

Judges will consider the nature, scale and scope of the work carried out, and a special emphasis will be placed on any successful integration of any National or Local Government Energy Efficiency schemes in the nominee's projects.

The judges will also look at:
- the impact their work has had within the local community.
- what their customers and local community have to say about them
- what level of expertise the nominee has

The following have been nominated for consideration for this award:-

Previous Winner

The previous winner of this award in 2017 was

Union Technical Servicesnominated by Union Technical awarded Insulation and Fabric Installer of the Year by Sir Lenny Henry and Wienerberger
The Judges said
Considering they are a relatively small and young company they have completed a proportionately significant number of installations in the last year. Their approach to regeneration of their local area and the reinvestment of funds into the local community is unique among the entrants and to be commended. If more companies were willing to reinvest in their local areas, communities would be stronger and more resilient to the uncertainties bought about by regular changes in government policy and current economic uncertainty
