Award Category Description

This award recognises the efforts of all those involved in delivering a successful energy saving project, where new energy efficient boilers or heating systems have been installed.

Criteria

Nominations for this award are open to any commercial or domestic project that meets the following criteria: The project must have been completed between January 2023 and March 2024. Where the project is a phase of a longer term project only the phase of work completed during the period can be considered eligible. It must involve boilers or heating systems as types of energy efficiency measures. All contractors working on the project must be fully qualified A clear nomination statement is required, outlining what sets them apart in their field and demonstrating clear energy savings achieved. Customer testimonials and community impact statements are essential. Judges will consider the nature, scale and scope of the work carried out, and a special emphasis will be placed on any successful integration of any national or local government energy efficiency schemes into the nominated project.

This was a small project with only one property which was over 100 years old and immense care was required. This is a great case study with the challenges that presented themselves in the roll-out of air source heat pumps, particularly those in off-grid areas and challenging rural conditions.
